Welcome! I’m Uma, the founder of Indee Room. After shifting from a career in health research, I wanted to channel my creativity and love for curation into a space that could be enjoyed and shared with others, and that’s how Indee Room came to life.

Indee Room is a lifestyle boutique in Winnipeg, MB, created as a space to bring together pieces that make everyday moments feel a little more special. From cozy home décor and thoughtfully curated vintage clothing to jewelry, apothecary, and artisan-made pieces, Indee Room is meant to feel personal, warm, and inspiring like stepping into your favourite room at home.

Each item in the shop is chosen with intention. You’ll find a mix of contemporary brands (mostly Canadian owned) alongside handmade pieces from South Asia, inspired by my Sri Lankan roots. The collection is curated to offer beautiful, meaningful pieces you can use every day — items that feel special, but still fit effortlessly into your life.

The name Indee Room reflects the heart behind the brand. “Indee” comes from my middle name, Indeevari, and is also a nod to the word “indie,” representing independence, creativity, and doing things your own way. “Room” is meant to feel cozy and personal — a space for your favourite things, little rituals, and moments of comfort.

Indee Room is about slow browsing, discovering unique finds, and creating a space that feels welcoming and thoughtfully curated. Whether you’re looking for something special or simply taking your time to wander, you’re always welcome here.
